All aboard the Theatre Bath Bus – a unique venue which will benefit the entire arts community in Bath and the surrounding areas.
Imagine being able to take a performance anywhere – anywhere with 13 meters of parking space. Impossible? Not anymore, thanks to the Bath Theatre Bus!
The Theatre Bath team are raising the funds to turn a 13 metre, single-decker, Volvo B10 Wright Renown bus into a mobile performance space, where anything is possible.
A Kickstarter has been launched to secure the £16,000 needed to convert the bus and already the community are voicing their support for the project. With just over a month to reach the target the clock is ticking to help support this inspirational project.
Theatre Bath Director Luke John Emmett says:
“This is a unique opportunity to create a mobile performance space that will enable performances of all kinds to be taken out into the heart of communities. What we’re creating is a blank canvas that can be used by everyone from musicians to comedians, theatre makers to poets and artists to workshop leaders. There are so many potential uses for this mobile space and the benefits to the community are huge! This bus will enable those who cannot access the arts for whatever reason to have access to them in their own communities.”
The Bath Theatre Bus is a unique venture, there is nothing like it currently available in the South West. The community have the chance to play a huge role in making it happen. There are various rewards available to those who donate to this exciting endeavour; these include personalised tweets, a note of thanks on Bath Theatre Bus website, or an invite to the exclusive launch party. Backers can even name a seat on the bus!
Zoe Bailey, Associate Director says:
“We are all really excited about this project and how it can help to champion the arts in our local area. The Bath Theatre Bus is for the benefit of everyone in the arts community and beyond. It is designed to be versatile and for the community to use in whatever way they see fit.”
Theatre Bath are a grassroots organisation who aim to help support and champion all theatre and arts within the Bath area. Formed in 2011 they are a community organisation which promotes local arts and also shares information about the national arts scene. It is currently run by a team of four volunteers and has massive and far-reaching support from the Bath community as well as the national theatre and arts scene.
