SERVICES:

Technical & Production Management

Calm, organised production management that turns complex creative plans into safe, practical and professionally delivered work.

I provide technical and production management for theatre, performance, festivals and live events, coordinating people, schedules, budgets, venues and equipment from early planning through to the final get-out.

What I Can Offer

Creative projects involve many moving parts. My role is to understand what the production is trying to achieve, build a practical structure around it and keep the people, resources and technical delivery moving in the same direction.

I can provide end-to-end production management or focused support at a particular stage of a project. This might begin with technical scoping, budgeting and venue liaison, or involve joining the team later to coordinate rehearsals, installation, live delivery or handover.

My approach combines detailed planning with the flexibility that live work demands. I keep communication clear, identify potential problems early and create the conditions in which the creative team can concentrate on making the work.

I work with:

  • Theatre companies and producers

Production and technical support from early planning through to rehearsals, performance and get-out.

  • Directors and creative teams

Translating creative ideas into practical requirements, schedules, budgets and technical plans.

  • Venues and arts organisations

Supporting in-house work, visiting productions, venue operations and technical development.

  • Festivals and public events

Coordinating multiple productions, spaces, schedules, suppliers and technical teams.

  • Schools, colleges and universities

Professional production support adapted to different facilities, budgets and levels of experience.

  • Agencies and organisations

Technical management for cultural, corporate, community and audience-facing live experiences.

Defining the scope of a project, identifying its requirements and building a clear route from the initial idea to delivery.

Technical Coordination

Bringing lighting, sound, video, staging and other technical elements together as one coherent production.

Budgets and Scheduling

Creating realistic budgets, schedules and milestones, then tracking them as the project develops.

Health, Safety and Documentation

Building risk management, practical safety planning and clear documentation into the production process.

Rehearsals and Show Delivery

Overseeing get-ins, technical rehearsals, performances, changeovers and get-outs to keep the work moving safely and efficiently.

What This Means For You

Potential problems are addressed before they reach the stage, while live delivery remains calm, responsive and properly managed.

Why Work With Me?

My technical and production management work is supported by more than 20 years of experience across theatre, performance, venues, festivals, events and digital production.

I have worked as a technician, designer, stage manager, production manager and technical manager. That gives me a practical understanding of how decisions made in one department affect the rest of the production and what teams need from one another in order to do their jobs well.

I am organised without being rigid. I create clear plans and documentation, communicate in straightforward language and remain calm when live work inevitably changes. My aim is not simply to keep a schedule moving, but to help the whole team deliver its best work.

20+ Years’ Experience

A broad understanding of theatre, venues, festivals, live events and technical production.

Whole-Production Perspective

Experience across creative, technical and operational roles rather than one isolated department.

Clear Communication

Practical information, responsibilities and decisions communicated in ways the whole team can use.

Calm Problem Solving

A measured and adaptable approach when schedules, spaces or circumstances change.
