If you’re looking for a tech native to support your online events then look no further than Luke Emmett. Luke helped me run a conference for 200 professionals using Hopin – he was responsible for the backstage area of the event, making sure that everything was as slick as possible for the attendees. I left my speakers and sponsors in his capable hands and Luke explained everything (how to share slides, the optimum tech set up) clearly and was brilliant at answering questions. In fact, Luke was super responsive whenever I had any queries. A positive and calm person to have involved in event day, I would highly recommend Luke if you’re hosting an online event in future.
What people are saying…
“We had the pleasure of working with Luke for our first virtual Asia Pacific Commonwealth Parliamentary Forum on Climate Change. Luke was a reliable and trusted member of the production team and we want to thank him for his flexibility and initiative. The virtual Forum production was flawless and many participants found the process extremely smooth thanks to the clear and confident instruction by Luke.”
I’ve worked with Luke on a number of projects. His skills, work ethic and expertise make him highly valued – and I would not hesitate to recommend him.
Luke is a superb lighting designer and operator. He is flexible, a good communicator and incredibly quick at responding to the needs of a director. I would wholeheartedly recommend him.
I worked with Luke on several medium scale theatrical productions over three years and found him to be a thoroughly competent, knowledgeable, professional Lighting Designer and Production Manager. He is highly creative and adaptable and worked well in high pressure situations with tight deadlines. He also has excellent communication skills and is a great team player. He developed an excellent rapport with the students and maintained patience and professionalism throughout. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him to any prospective employer.
Luke was very efficient, creative and easy to work with. I would definitely hire him again and recommend to others.
Hire this man. He will make you look good. I have worked with Luke on non-tech projects and seen his work before but I have to take more space and recommend him as a tech superstar. I pulled together a day of full-on workshopping a new script, followed immediately by an audience showing that night. Luke saw the script just days beforehand. Light and sound are essential to the audience’s understanding / experience of this show. And WOW. There was one run-through before the show in a 11-hour day, and Luke’s art, skill, good grace, calm and general professionalism make him a go-to of the highest calibre. He is a credit to our industry and I very much hope I can be in the position to have him on my team again before long.
Luke was a fantastic Technician and Production Manager – always willing to jump into any role as required. Always put 100% of the effort in until the very end of the production (and beyond). Budgets, lighting, sound, costume, set, scripts, bands, tickets, posters etc . . . . all organised by Luke.
I have known and worked with Luke for many years. In 2008/09 he toured with my one-man-show ‘I Shot Dirty Den’ as lighting operative and Stage-Manager. I have worked with him on many productions at the Rondo Theatre in Bath, and would recommend him highly as a conscientious worker who can think out of the box when required; something that Sound and Lighting Design often needs in tight turn around situations. My “first pick” in his field.
Luke is committed, creative and enthusiastic. He brings a broad range of experience to bear on his lighting designs, and is quick to find solutions and suggestions that suit the brief and timescale, while maintaining the highest standards.
Luke has provided technical support for four of my productions in 2012-13 and I would be delighted to have him involved in the future. Highly recommended.

“A huge open set of light, shade and colour is accompanied by excellent light and sound effects, plus a mass of humour and magic… One of the best Christmas productions I’ve seen in years, it is definitely the one you should catch this year. A delight.”
The Famished Fox Says:
“Blue Bird makes for a refreshing alternative to the traditional pantomime this Christmas season. Use of staging and lighting effects within this show, compliment the fantastical nature of the script beautifully. The strobe effects featured within the ‘ghost’ scene and the perfectly executed timing of some rather rapid lighting changes in the first act, greatly enhance the aesthetically pleasing aspect of the show. Further, as we enter into the Rondo Theatre, it is pleasant to see the actors communicating with the children from the off as they literally enter the Blue Bird wonderland that a fabulous use of staging and lighting creates for them.”
What’sOnStage Says:
“The design by Natalie Remington is captivating a wonderful imaginative world where nothing is quite as it seems. Beautifully lit by Luke J Emmett there is something here for every generation.”
